Disney World Orlando Theme Park Reopens: Kids Celebrate After The Hurricane

Florida's Walt Disney can't be stopped in furnishing excitement and fun, though Hurricane Matthew swooshed the state. The fun continues for Walt Disney fans especially kiddos and big kids as Walt Disney has reopened its theme parks at 8 a.m. last Saturday, Oct. 8, after it was closed Friday due to anticipation of the storm named Matthew.

Hurricane Matthew had stricken not only the hearts of many people but most especially of the teens and kids as it has closed the famous and fun Walt Disney theme parks. Last Friday, Oct 7, Walt Disney World shut its Florida theme parks due to expectation of Hurricane Matthew, according to CNN Money.

Disney World posted refund and reservation change guidelines and relinquished hotel cancellation charges for guests whose travel and visit plans were affected by Hurricane Matthew, as per Los Angeles Times. The report also said that cruise ships of Disney World continue to cancel and change Caribbean itineraries at the wake of the storm.

Good and fun times continue, though, as those closed theme parks were reopened. Disney World's Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom opened last Saturday, Oct. 8, around 8 a.m., via Disney Parks Blog. Luckily the parks were not smashed by the hurricane.

Magic Kingdom Park

Visitors of different age brackets, but most especially the young and teen sets will enjoy a great array of rides. They can meet their much loved and adored Disney characters. For kids who are scared easily, there are so many rides which they are able to sit with mommy and daddy.

Disney Springs

Formerly recognized as Downtown Disney, Disney Springs includes everything: shopping opportunities, entertainment and dining. Kids and parents will have a broad range of special events, boating, live music, theater, art and acrobatic artistry. There are also fountains where kids can play and enjoy while parents or grownups take a rest.

Hollywood Studios

Star Tours is one of the main hits and favorites in the parks today for big kids. Big kids should not miss this one-of-a-kind ride. Fighting Darth Vader and having a ride all through the galaxy of Star Wars are something that each big kid will really want to experience today that makes this ride the best for them.

Animal Kingdom

Teens will like and love the peaceful and natural setting offered in this theme park. Lots of rides also await. Among the rides each teen shouldn't miss when visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom are Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, Primeval Whirl and more.

Great news for big kid fans of Walt Disney out there, now you can continue the fun and enjoyment at Walt Disney theme parks! Indeed, there's always a rainbow after the rain.
