Google Burns Apple With New Pixel Ad?

In the dizzying world of new smartphones every month or so, most people get impressed by ads, even those which are non-traditional in form: unboxing videos, side-by-side reviews, or even first-look previews of yet-unreleased phones.

It is rare then for a product soon to hit fresh shelves to also make a hit based almost entirely on its quirky ad.As Parent Herald reports the Pixel, Google's first fully in-house smartphone after the Nexus series it partnered with several companies before, is set to break new controversies with an ad that sharply positions itself against its competitors.

After almost just a month since Apple released its iPhone 7 during its keynote event, Google now basks in the hype spotlight with the Pixel, its premium flagship gamble. Throwing some shade at the new iPhone's lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack, Apple's witty, minimalist ad has gained traction among Android fanatics and critics alike.

With two size iterations (5-inch, and the 5.5-inch Pixel XL) and three color options, the Pixel is positioned to go head to head in the market with Apple's latest. Reactions from other high-end manufacturers are expected, even as the Pixel is fully designed by Google and manufactured by HTC, because its premium build goes against Google's existing Android partnerships with companies such as Samsung, Asus, or Huawei, which manufactured what is arguably its last Nexus iteration according to Digital Trends.

Claiming new territory with what it touts as the best camera on a smartphone ever, Google's new venture may just be viewed in a negative light. The company's history of putting down high-profile projects as quick as it puts them up for show has some market analysts worried that the Pixel may be just another of its crazy science project according to Forbes.

Google's reassuring suite of products that fully integrate with its cloud-based and search services take the power of the internet right to consumer hands, with new devices made specifically with the internet of things trend in mind.
