International Day Of The Girl Child Observance: Young Girls’ Rights And Protection Highlighted

Young girls' rights and protection marked yesterday, Oct. 11, the International Day of the Girl Child. Different societies encouraged everyone to protect and empower thriving girls all over the world.

About 1 in 4 persons living with HIV in America are women, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Of the overall calculated number of girls diagnosed with HIV in the final times of 2013, 61 percent or 137,504 were African American, 17 percent or 39,177 were white and 17 percent or 38,664 were Hispanics/Latinas, the report added.

Gender discrimination stops girls and women to protect themselves against Aids/HIV, according to a report from the Huffingtonpost. Children who experience this violence are particularly susceptible, with less than five percent accessing services to help them feel better, the report furthered.

Now, the government of United States takes initiative to help save the lives of young girls and women suffering from AIDS/HIV all over the world. The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has been formed.

The negotiation is currently happening between partners all over the world to help young girls and women get access to opportunities and resources on how to stay healthy and safe. In fact today, the program is strengthening its partnership with Together For Girls by backing up the Every Hour Matters campaign to help sexual violence survivors get access to fast precaution and healthcare, according to a report in President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

Besides keeping young girls and women safe, the U.S. government is also committed to providing young girls opportunities for training and education. The United States Global Strategy to Empower Adolescent Girls (USGSEAG) was launched.

USGSEAG aims to empower young girls to have the training and education they require to succeed. With the support of private sector, governments and different society groups all over the world, the action compelled by the this program is going to prepare the next generation of young girls and women to become future leaders.
