NBA Star Paul Pierce Confirmed His Retirement; Paul Pierce Will Sign A 1-Day Deal With The Boston Celtics

Paul Pierce of the Los Angeles Clippers confirmed that he wants to retire as a Celtic after this coming 2016-2017 NBA Season. Paul Pierce himself confirmed his plan of retiring and how it is going to be, he wants to retire wearing the Boston Celtics jersey.

According to the ESPN, Paul Pierce confirms that he wants to retire with the Boston Celtics after this season, Paul Pierce stated during an interview with the SiriusXM NBA Radio. Pierce cited that he made most of his achievements during his stint with the Celtics, glory days and his prime days as he specified.

There is a previous report that Clippers coach Doc Rivers visited the Boston Celtics and talked to GM Danny Ainge. Rivers asked Danny Ainge to sign Paul Pierce to at least a one-day contract to have a formal retirement with the Boston Celtics. Doc Rivers also said that before Paul Pierce decided to return and play this NBA season, he came up with an idea of retiring.

In a press release by the CBS Boston, it shows an image of an NBA record history in most points for one team played by a specific NBA player. Paul Pierce was 11th on the list with 24,021 points as he played with the Boston Celtics for 15 straight years.

For most of the NBA fans, Paul Pierce defines loyalty and greatness. Kevin Garnett once told that Paul Pierce is one of the best guys he had. Even Ray Allen called him as the best teammate, a leader and a friend.

Paul Pierce will be playing with the Los Angeles Clippers this season, but he is expected to step again in the TD Garden Arena next year wearing white and green.
