‘Vikings' Season 5 Air Date, News & Update: Ragnar Lothbrok Returning After ‘Vikings Season 4’ Part 2? Ivar, Bjorn Guided By Kattegat King?

"Vikings Season 5" is bringing back star Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok. While "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 will get hairy for Ragnar Lothbrok, the Kattegat King will be back to guide sons Ivar (Alex Hogh Anderson), Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Sigurd (David Lindström) and Hvitserk (Marco Islo) in Season 5.

News and tease have been plenty on the death of Ragnar Lothbrok come "Vikings Season 4" Part 2. History itself released a "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 trailer teasing Ragnar Lothbrok and King Aelle's (Ivan Kaye) snake pit.

In certain historical accounts of the death of Ragnar Lothbrok, King Aelle brought the Viking legend's end through revenge. The fact that "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 goes through a time jump pitting Ragnar Lothbrok against his now grown-up sons, furthered the argument of Travis Fimmel's exit after Season 4 finale.

However, IMDb indicates that Ragnar Lothbrok is still well and truly the star in "Vikings Season 5." Alongside Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok is new addition Jonathan Rhys Meyers in "Vikings Season 5" as Variety reports.

Does this mean that Ragnar Lothbrok survives the snake pit and lives well into "Vikings Season 5?" Does this also mean that Ragnar Lothbrok will be around to guide Ivar The Boneless and his other sons as they go on their own explorations and conquests in "Vikings Season 5?"

This is good news as Ivar The Boneless will reportedly be pitted against the character of Jonathan Rhys Meyers in "Vikings Season 5." Having Ragnar Lothbrok coaching the naturally talented Ivar The Boneless would be an interesting watch in "Vikings Season 5."

According to reports Jonathan Rhys Meyers' English lord character will be a formidable enemy to Ivar The Boneless in the next season of "Vikings." However, Ivar The Boneless will reportedly be a worthy opponent to Jonathan Rhys Meyers and others who cross him, indeed a true son of Ragnar Lothbrok.

History is scheduled to air the "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 premiere ("The Outsider") on Nov 30. What are your top theories on Ragnar Lothbrok, "Vikings Season 4" Part 2 and Season 5?
