Blackberry Priv Users From AT&T, No Need To Panic!

Blackberry Priv users on AT&T need not worry because subscribers can receive updates directly from Blackberry. This from an announcement made as many users are not able to receive updates if they are not using an active AT&T SIM card.

According to GSM Arena, back in May 2016, Blackberry announced that they are working on a solution to the issue. The Canadian firm, Blackberry finally has a fix to the problem. Blackberry has decided to the handle the updates for unlocked AT&T Blackberry Priv units on its own. This is set to take place October 17, 2016.

Another report from Android Central reminds Blackberry Priv users that this is only going to take effect on AT&T branded phones that were purchased unlocked. This is not going to work on Blackberry Priv devices that are AT&T locked and SIM unlocked after purchase. It is still clear if this will work with other Blackberry Priv units not under AT&T.

Blackberry Priv is a Blackberry phone that runs on Android Marshmallow. This is interesting move from Blackberry as they are known to have their own Operating System. Since its release, Blackberry Priv has been successful, making it carried by various Telcos in the US.

There are a good number of Blackberry models following the footsteps of Blackberry Priv such as Blackberry DTEK60. It is highly likely that all phones to be released by Blackberry will also be carried by AT&T and other different phone providers

Many users are then worried if this will also happen to future Blackberry phones to be released. It can be worrisome for most users if updates are unable to be received. This is a good measure taken by Blackberry. It is good relief for Blackberry Priv users (who are directly affected first) and to the future owners of Blackberry phones from AT&T.
