Scandal's Kerry Washington Gives Birth to Son; Now A Mother Of Two

Kerry Washington's month is definitely far from scandalous! The "Scandal" actress and husband Nnamdi Asomugha now became a happy family of four with the birth of Caleb Kelechi Asomugha. Their firstborn daughter, Isabelle Amarachi, is now 2 years old.

The second public baby announcement happened last April. A style icon, Kerry Washington first publicly appeared in the 2016 Met Gala with her baby bump last May. Since then, she has consistently and proudly sported her baby bump in stylish fashion on her Instagram account, pulling designer outfits with flair. Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha of San Francisco 49ers fame got married last July 2013.

Celebrity mom Kerry Washington catapulted to fame with her lead role in the Shonda Rhimes creation "Scandal," a salacious and creative TV drama that involves a lot of contemporary issues in the backdrop of a politically charged climate. The show has gained a cultic following and her role as Olivia Pope continues to make waves even at the close of the show's fifth season.

Even with all the seriousness of "Scandal," Kerry Washington also proved her mettle in the side of comedy and cementer her versatility as an actress. Her brief hosting stint with "Saturday Night Live" was one of the most widely watched episodes of the show, close to Justin Timberlake's epic episode participation last March for that season in 2013. At the time, the marriage also took a rough patch as husband Nnamdi was taken out of the NFL.

Kerry Washington revealed to Oprah during a "Soul Session" episode that she was in a rough place before her success as an actress with "Scandal." "I allowed myself to be open to change... I don't talk about my personal life very often, but that's true," she reveals. Kerry Washington also believed that this overhaul of toxicity in her life freed the opportunities that came her way after and prepared her to becoming a good mother.
