‘Wolverine 3: Logan’ [RELEASE DATE, TRAILER, LATEST NEWS UPDATES]: Hugh Jackman’s Upcoming ‘Wolverine’ Film Too Violent? Latest Teaser Hints R-Rating

The upcoming "Wolverine 3: Logan" film of the "X-Men" movie franchise won't hit the cinemas until early 2017 but 20th Century Fox recently gave the fans a sneak peek at what to expect on the film. Based on the latest trailer, the upcoming film is suffused with violence and will show a darker and gritty Hugh Jackman as he reprises his role as Logan aka Wolverine.

Due to the darker interpretation of Hugh Jackman's iconic mutant superhero character, Screen Rant hinted that "Wolverine 3: Logan" would get an R-rating, which will be the first film in the "X-Men" franchise to seek MPAA's R-rating and tackles adult content. The online news site added that the use of Johnny Cash's song, "Hurt," as part of the movie soundtrack was perfect in highlighting the "darker tone" of the movie's storylines.

In addition to violence, "Wolverine 3: Logan" will also introduce some new scenes. Interestingly, Cinema Blend reveals the coming of Laura Kinney aka X23, who is reportedly a "mutant spun off and cloned version" of Logan and the "perfect killing machine." Aside from being Logan's clone, X23 also shares Wolverine's mutant power and has her very own claws.

As for the plotlines, "Wolverine 3: Logan" will depict the events where mutants no longer exist and Professor Xavier's health condition is rapidly deteriorating. According to Inverse, the trailer also suggested the film was shot on location in Mexico.

"Wolverine 3: Logan" main plot, however, will focus on protecting Laura, whose powers aren't in full force yet. The movie's first trailer also hinted the coming of Caliban, the albino mutant who's capable of sensing and tracking other mutants, as well as the possible appearance of the Morlocks.

As for Professor X, fans will see him living inside Cerebro in "Wolverine 3: Logan." Meanwhile, the official release date for the upcoming "Wolverine" flick will be on Mar. 3, 2017. As for now, watch the movie's first international trailer below and share your reactions on the comments section.
