NBA News And Update: Lance Stephenson Is Now Officially A Member Of The Pelicans; The Pelicans Waived Alonzo Gee

Lance Stephenson is finally added in the 15-man roster of the New Orleans Pelicans for the upcoming NBA Season. The New Orleans Pelicans cut a couple of players on their roster to finalize their lineup before the official NBA games start.

In a report made by the Fansided earlier this week, the Pelicans are choosing between Alonzo Gee and Lance Stephenson. Last Saturday, the Pelicans cut down 2 players on their lineup, Quinn Cook and Quincy Ford that left them 16 players.

Before the deadline of the NBA roster completion, the New Orleans Pelicans decided to pick Lance Stephenson over Alonzo Gee. This result that the Pelicans need to waive Alonzo Gee, who signed a 1-year deal last NBA off-season according to the ESPN.

Now that Lance Stephenson is finally back in the NBA officially, he needs now to take his opportunity to show he is worth the spot. Stephenson will team-up with All-Star Anthony Davis, along with the newly drafted potential star Buddy Hield.

Lance Stephenson split his season with the Grizzlies and the Clippers last NBA season. He was quite caught up in a very low-efficiency and has not been effective since he left the Indiana Pacers.

Stephenson is known to be a great defender, he can cover the passing lane while entangled his feet consistently on his designated man. Lance Stephenson is also an offensive threat, an outside shooter, a finesse ball handler and has good court vision to pass around the ball.

With the absence of Jrue Holiday and with no exact date of his return, Stephenson would be a great addition to the Pelicans. All he needs to work on is his attitude and bring back the old player he was.

The New Orleans Pelicans will be hosting their first game this coming 2016-2017 NBA season against the Denver Nuggets. Pelicans' first action will be on October 26th, Wednesday.
