Android 7.0 Nougat Release Date, Latest News Update: When Can HTC & LG Users Expect The Sweetest OS Yet By Google?

Google's latest operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat, may have been released last August, but this is not true for all smartphone manufacturers. To save some users from wild guesses on when they can expect the sweet upgrade in their mobile phones, here is a roundup of what is known so far for LG and HTC users.

According to Tech Times, the first HTC device to get the latest OS by Android will be HTC Bolt. This will be followed by One A9 and One MP. Meanwhile, the rest of the handsets listed to receive Android 7.0 Nougat will be getting it in the latter part of 2016.

On the other hand, LG devices slated to receive Android 7.0 Nougat are LG V20, LG V10, LG V5 and LG G3. First to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update is LG V20, as it officially releases tomorrow, Oct. 28. This was as promised by the manufacturer earlier this year.

Moreover, LG G5 users can anticipate the landing of Android's latest firmware in November, and this time, it's the real thing. LG G5 users were fortunate to have a peek of Android 7.0 Nougat on their devices through a Preview Program. V10 users might be waiting for a little longer as the OS was reported to become available six months after its official release.

As previously reported by Parent Herald, Android fanatics have been anticipating what Google has touted as its "sweetest release yet." Loyal Android fans have swooned over Nougat's multitude of features including multi-window support, virtual reality mode (Daydream-enabled), stronger battery power and an entirely updated 1,500-count emoji library, featuring 72 new ones.

Per its official website, Android Nougat also boasts the ability to use two languages at a time, quick switch navigation between apps, even better-personalized notification settings and over-the-top security line, which employs file-based encryption and direct boot, among other features.
