NBA Schedule, Scores News: Kevin Garnett Returns To NBA, Refused To Join Minnesota Timberwolves?

Kevin Garnett declared his retirement this Summer after a one-year return to the Minnesota Timberwolves to end his successful 21-year NBA career. But just recently, Garnett confirmed his return to the league.

Garnett, the 2004 Most Valuable Player and 1995 5th overall pick by the Timberwolves will be seen again on television, this time as a member of TNT's broadcast team. Members of the team include former NBA players like Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'neal.

The Gamer's Drop reports that Garnett will not be joining the rest of Inside the NBA crew. Instead, Garnett will have his own segment which is currently "under construction." In it, he will appear weekly with special guests to provide unique insights of the game. TNT has officially welcomed Garnett to the team, and it appears as though Garnett is very pleased with his new job.

According to Garnett, he has opinions on the game in which he can offer to the TNT team. Garnett further stated that the opinions he has comes from his 21-year experience on the court.

Rumors earlier suggested that Kobe Bryant was entering the broadcast crew. It came as a surprise to see Garnett taking over the helms instead of Bryant.

In addition to the Timberwolves, Garnett played for the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets in a span of 21 seasons. Garnett was the first player in 20 years to directly be drafted out of high school.

When Garnett was traded to the Celtics in 2007, he helped the team win a championship and reach the postseason every year for six seasons. Garnett was then traded to the Nets and played in Brooklyn for over a year. He then played for the Timberwolves for a season before retiring.

Aside from his outstanding record in the NBA, he helped the U.S.A. national basketball team win the gold medal in the 2000 Olympics. Garnett will undoubtedly add color to the already colorful TNT broadcast team.
