'Rambo' Reboot Latest News, Air Date: Movie Already In Development, Titled As 'Rambo: New Blood'

Fans of "Rambo" may be able to see the movie again, this time, in a reboot platform that will be portrayed by a younger actor. Details of the movie is still scarce, but it is believed to be directed by Israeli helmer Ariel Vroman.

The movie that starred by Sylvester Stallone will continue with a different leading man. However, no details of who will portray John Rambo has been out yet. The movie's location is also kept under wraps, sparking questions whether it will still feature the same Vietnam War plot or be situated in Afghanistan or Iraq conflict.

Nu Image/Millenium Films is reportedly working with Vroman as the director and Brooks McLaren to lead the script. It will be titled "Rambo: New Blood" and will be portrayed by a young actor, who will have similar traits to James Bond, according to Hollywood Reporter.

It was in 1982 when the original "Rambo" came out as a box office hit, making Sylvester Stallone more famous than ever. Titled as "Rambo: First Blood," the movie was based from the 1972 novel "First Blood" by David Morell.

A sequel then came out in 1985 and was titled "Rambo: First Blood Part II," which featured America in its 1980s go-go vibe. The movie was packed with high-adrenalin scenes, in which the story focuses on Rambo plotting a revenge against the Vietnamese.

It was in 1988 when "Rambo III" came out, but did not perform in the box office as much as what the first two titles have achieved. In 2008, Rambo went back in the scene with Stallone reviving the character.

Meanwhile, Stallone has recently rejected the supposed TV series on Fox titled "Rambo: New Blood," which would feature the story of Rambo's son. He expressed his doubts about replacing John Rambo with his child.

"I don't want to cast aspersions," the actor said, "but it's delicate to try to replace a character with his son. I've seen the son of Flicka, the son of Tarzan, the son of King Kong. It's a very difficult premise."
