‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Damon Becoming Human For A Normal Life With Elena? Steroline Engagement Doomed?

There's a huge chance that "The Vampire Diaries" would showcase a much-awaited reunion between Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) in Season 8. Fans of the pair are anxious about what would happen if such a reunion would take place. Will the two finally get their happy ending? Some speculations claimed that Damon would be willing to sacrifice being a vampire for Elena and become human again.

"The Vampire Diaries" creator Julie Plec told TVGuide that becoming human again is Damon's plan. "I think he was ready to do that before she went down, and he remains ready to do that," Plec continued.

In Season 8 of "The Vampire Diaries," Damon is still under the control of the murderous siren Sybil (Nathalie Kelley), with his humanity turned off in the process. Damon is incapable of finding another cure because of his current condition, but the idea of building a normal life with Elena is constantly in his mind. That fantasy, according to Plec, is the only thing that gives Damon hope.

"I think the only hope that he's holding on to is the idea of the two of them living in Tribeca in their brownstone and raising kids and having a life together as humans when this is all said and done," Plec explained to TVGuide.

Episode two of "The Vampire Diaries" was a winning moment for both Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), Caroline Forbes (Candice King), and the Steroline shippers. Stefan proposed to Caroline while the latter was moving her stuff into Stefan's house.

Caroline, as expected, said yes to her beau's romantic proposal. Hurdles and bumps, however, are in store for Stefan and Caroline on "The Vampire Diaries" despite the huge step they took.

Wesley told E! News that Steroline might not stay intact in Season 8 of "The Vampire Diaries," but the couple could work through their issues "towards the end" of the series. The actor said that there were discussions about the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries" but he's genuinely clueless about where Stefan and Caroline's romance will lead to.

The couple is also occupied with other things on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Stefan is trying to save Damon from Sybil and Caroline is swamped with work, motherhood, and co-parenting her children with ex, Alaric (Matt Davis). The latter will definitely cause tension in Caroline's relationship with Stefan.
