'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Release Update: When Will NetherRealm Finally Release Much-Awaited Pack 3?

The third expansion of "Mortal Kombat X" cannot yet come to fruition anytime soon as NetherRealm Studios diverted its attention to "Injustice 2." Regardless of "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3's delay, fans can get to explore new features in "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 2 longer while waiting for the next Kombat pack release.

JBH News reports that the while the developer has been in the process of developing "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3, its release is yet to be announced despite fans' persistent clamor for the third Kombat pack. Since the release of "Injustice 2" will be sometime in March 2017, it all makes sense that it will be reportedly hitting consumers' shelves in June 2017.

As early as September, fans have been asking for another expansion pack from "Mortal Kombat X." It was previously reported by Parent Herald that co-creator of the game, Ed Boon, released a sneak peek of the up and coming "Mortal Kombat X" DLC by giving hints of what comes with the latest project. Yet, almost two months down the line, there are no new updates and still, fans could not wait to get hold of the DLC.

Good thing is that NetherRealm Studios has released previously a good content that can keep fans busy as they wait for Kombat Pack 3. It was also reported that NetherRealm will add new characters for "Mortal Kombat X" Pack 3 like Fujin, Baraka and Rain. The new characters will also grace the '90s classic game like Smoke, Noob Saibot, Lin Mei, Sindel and Jade.

"Mortal Kombat X" is the 10th installment of the "Mortal Kombat" series, which debuted in 1992. The game was originally developed by Midway Games until the gaming company went bankrupt. Since then, Warner Bros. purchased all rights for the game and eventually turned into NetherRealm Studios.

During its heyday, "Mortal Kombat" was once the most popular fighting game in the arcade world. Since the game has been rebooted to modern digital consoles, "Mortal Kombat" continues to be enjoyed by countless fans.
