Sixers Tend Not To Extend Nerlens Noel; Noel Would Be Traded In The Mid Season; Joel Embiid Is Taking The Limelight

The Philadelphia 76ers decided not to extend the contract of Nerlens Noel as the NBA contract extension deadline expires. The Sixers are now getting serious about considering Nerlens Noel to pull out for a trade.

The CBS Philly stated that as the Sixers fail to extend Nerlens Noel, this would actually mean that the bigman will become a restricted free agent next NBA off-season. The only hope for Noel to remain as a member of the Sixers, is if the management would give him a qualifying offer.

Let's not forget that not long ago, Nerlens Noel said in a press conference that their team is packed with centers. Obviously today, Noel seemed to be the odd man out.

It is no secret that the Sixers have a logjam in the bigmen position this season. The Sixers' leading scorer last season Jahlil Okafor, the recovered rookie Joel Embiid, the 2016 1st overall draft pick Ben Simmons, the stretch four Dario Saric and the paint protector Nerlens Noel are all potential future NBA star.

Having this couple of bigmen in the same team, the Sixers would have a lot to choose from, they are likely to draft because of talent and not because of the traditional draft-for-need. This season, Nerlens Noel, Okafor and Ben Simmons are on the injury list as per the ESPN, while Joel Embiid and Dario Saric are now leading the team.

The Sixers are likely to keep both Okafor and Embiid in the center position as they are also waiting for the recovery of Ben Simmons. Though Noel can also play the power forward position, he might be the ideal piece for a trade as the Sixers are in need of a better shooting guard.

Nerlens Noel is a great defender and a potential member of the all-defensive team is he can stay healthy in the next few years. Noel could find his new home easily with his talent in the like of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors and the Portland Trail Blazers just like the Fan Sided told.
