'Kingdom Hearts 3' News & Update: Upcoming 'KH' Titles Revealed; What To Expect And Why So Confusing?

The "Kingdom Hearts" developers have announced a myriad of upcoming titles for the franchise with a somewhat confusing new naming scheme, knowing the content or which title comes after another has been a confusing ordeal for fans of the series.

Here's a guide to help you know the content and chronology of each of the "Kingdom Hearts" that will be released soon.

The new titles of the "Kingdom Hearts" series have an HD attached to their name, which simply means what it says - high-definition content. The HD in the title would also imply remastered content from an older game in the series to match the high-resolution screens we use to play our games today.

Other than the HD in the titles, there is also the confusing scheme of decimal point numbers such as 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8. Would anyone want to do some math on that? Without further ado, here are the games:

"Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX + HD 2.5 ReMIX" - This is basically a collection of the first and second "Kingdom Hearts" games and all the games that came out after that. The 1.5 ReMIX part consists of "Kingdom Hearts 1" and all games preceding "Kingdom Hearts 2". The 2.5 ReMIX part contains "Kingdom Hearts 2" and all the games that followed that.

"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" - Unlike 1.5 and 2.5, this collection is bit confusing. It contains the sequel to the prequel, some history of the prequel, and a prequel to the sequel.

Confused? So am I. But to say it plainly it contains a sequel to the "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep", presumably the first in the story chronology, an HD movie of the "Fortellers" to give additional history to the series, and the latest game "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD".

"Kingdom Hearts III" - This is the game we have all been waiting for. The sequel to the main game. Unfortunately, we don't have much information about this but rumor has it that it is currently in the works.

If your head's still spinning from all the numbers and the crazy sequence of events from the games, let me wrap it up for you. If you are new to the franchise, these game collections are a great way for you to catch up with the story. Rather than having to buy every single game from every other platform, these collections offer a convenient all-in-one package for you to enjoy the universe of "Kingdom Hearts".
