'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' Free Play, Latest News And Update: Ubisoft Explains Game's Value To History; Out On Nov. 9

"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" is the next free game that Ubisoft will release following "Beyond Good & Evil." The company has been rolling out free games on a monthly basis in celebration of their 30th anniversary called "Ubi 30."

"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" is the upcoming free game for November. The sci-fi game revamps the original title, where players are taken into the 1980s. "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" will start rolling out on Nov. 9, but until then, "Beyond Good & Evil" can still be played without a cost.

Ubisoft explained that "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" was included on their list due to the significant contribution it made to the company's history. "Far Cry" is their first-ever open-world title that was released at the E3 2001 as X-Isle. During that time, the open-world "Far Cry" featured a world dominated by dinosaurs, which is supported by Crytek's Cry-engine.

"The co-developed game by Ubisoft and Crytek changed name and adapted its context to become Far Cry in March 2004," Ubisoft revealed. "From the beginning the game offered the root of an open world: large playground, freedom of choice and initiative to the player, emerging gameplays."

"Blood Dragon" is an individual DLC to "Far Cry 3." The title is situated in a smaller map and introduced a new story and a new hero.

"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" can be downloaded for free via a Uplay account. This should mean that players who do not have such platform should start signing up or else they may not experience what "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" has in store.

On the other hand, members of Microsoft's Games with Gold program can wait for it on November 15 as "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" is included in the roster. Ubisoft has yet to announce the next free game for December, but players are certain that it will be grander than "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon."
