Blizzcon Updates: ‘Diablo III's' Necromancer Officially Confirmed; When Will It Hit The Market?

The rumor circulating within the "Diablo" community was finally confirmed. The recent Blizzcon updates confirm a new DLC that will arrive in 2017.

The presentation of the Diablo team hyped the audience with the announcement of a new DLC. "Diablo III: Rise of The Necromancer" was announced as a new DLC expansion for the series, which is scheduled hit the stores in 2017. The confirmation as always revealed only minor details of the upcoming game. The new DLC is said to let the player assume the role of a Necromancer that has the ability to control an army of undead beings, based on the article by DualShockers. The usual perks are also included like additional stashes and character slots.

The "Diablo" team also announced that the original "Diablo" will be available within "Diablo III" thru a patch on the current game. The patch is said to include "a special graphics filter to make everything pixelated and grainy" and "character movement will be restricted to eight directions."

The name "Diablo" is a Spanish word for the devil, which is the player's final Boss. The original "Diablo (1996)" lets the player choose from three different classes: Warrior for strength advantage, Rogue for ranged weapons, and Sorcerer for casting spells. The "Necromancer" was introduced as a new class together with the Paladin and the Amazon in "Diablo II." The second installment sold more than 1 million copies in its first two weeks and was recognized by the "Guinness Book of World Records" as the Fastest Selling Computer Game Ever Sold.

2016 marks "Diablo's" 20th year in the video game industry and the series just keeps getting bigger and better. The recent updates and announcements are Blizzard's way assuring the entire Diablo community that the epic series is has a lot more in store and has not reached its full potential just yet.
