'Beauty And The Beast' Live-Action Spoilers & News: Can Dan Stevens Sing? Emma Watson Starrer Has New Songs From Alan Menken

Music from "Beauty and the Beast" are familiar to those who have loved the 1991 animated film, but the upcoming live-action take, with Emma Watson playing Belle, will supposedly have new and updated songs to delight today's audience. Composer Alan Menken, who worked in the 1991 version, is also doing the songs for the movie that will be released in March 2017. He shares some details about what viewers will get to hear.

One of the new songs in the "Beauty and the Beast" live-action is called "Our Song Lives On," which will be reprised many times in the movie by both Belle and her father Maurice (Kevin Kline). Alan Menken hints that "Our Song Lives On" will be the new anthem for "Beauty and the Beast" live-action. Disney is planning to record a version of this new song with a still unannounced "wonderful singer," Entertainment Weekly reports.

"Beauty and the Beast" live-action will also have the new song "For Evermore," which will be sung by the Beast (Dan Stevens). Alan Menken shared that this song is about Beast realizing he loves Belle when he knows he has to let her go.

Bustle reports that there are no indications that the "Beauty and the Beast" star can or cannot sing. Back when he was still doing "Downton Abbey" when there were talks about a musical episode, he said someone else might actually have to sing for his character, Matthew Crawley.

Dan Stevens, however, is married to vocalist and singing teacher Susie Hariet and admitted he did get help from her for his "Beauty and the Beast" audition. He confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Beast will be using his own singing voice in the live-action take.
