Are You Raising Helpless Kids? Here Are Some Tips On How To Stop Repeating Those Mistakes

It is very important for a parent and for a child as well to know what they are capable of. Parents should not always offer their help to kids. If they do, it makes them lazy and helpless, which snatch away the kid's own creativity of how to overcome a problem.

Helplessness makes kids demand special service from their parents. They want them to do their menial workeven though they are perfectly capable of doing that themselves.

According to Huffington Post, there are a few signs for a parent to know if they are raising helpless kids. One of the signs is when a parent informs a child that they are special even if they haven't done anything. If a child has not showed any good behavior, they are in no need of presuming that they are in anyway special.

So, parents should not treat them special, until and unless they do anything good. If a parent treats a child special for no good reason, there is no motivation left for a child to behave well.

A parent should only use such words for their children when they perform well. According to Positive Parenting, another mistake that parents make is when they provide too much comfort to their children. When too much comfort is provided, children become stubborn and they want everything to be done in their way.

Children get upset and disappointed when a parent says no to something they asked for. When they get upset, leave them alone and let them deal with it on their own. It is not always necessary for a parent to make their children happy.

Parents usually make their kid's happiness a central goal, which is not good for the child, as it makes them helpless and pretty much self-centered. This translates as a huge problem later on in life when these children have a hard time catching up to school and finally drop out of education because of their lazy upbringing.
