‘iZombie’ Season 3 Spoilers: Showrunner Addresses Cancellation Rumors, Drake Returns, New Love Interest For Liv

"iZombie" is nearing its Season 3 premiere date and fans are already excited for what's in store for The CW zombie comedy. In the upcoming season of "iZombie," one of Liv's (Rose McIver) exes will return and she will have a new love interest.

Greg Finley is reprising his role as Liv's former flame, Drake, in "iZombie" Season 3, TVLine reported. The last time "iZombie" viewers saw Drake, Liv killed him to save Clive (Malcolm Goodwin).

Drake's return will happen in episode 10 of "iZombie" Season 3, where Liv will "eat the brains of a mentally disturbed man being haunted by the wife he killed in a car accident." As expected, Liv will be haunted as well because of the rules brought upon by brain-eating.

"iZombie" Season 3 will also showcase Jason Dohring in a recurring role as Chase Graves, Filmore Graves CEO Vivian Stoll's (Andrea Savage) brother-in-law. Natalie Alyn Lynd and Andrew Caldwell have roles in the upcoming season, too.

Dohring will debut in episode eight of "iZombie" Season 3 titled "Eat a Kinevel." The actor previously expressed that he wants to portray a zombie in the series, TVLine reported.

"iZombie" showrunner Rob Thomas said that Season 3 will introduce a new romantic interest for Liv. This guy "will not die" but Thomas stressed that "the relationship will not end because of death," which means that Liv's new relationship won't last and it's only a matter of time when that would happen, according to a separate report from TVLine.

Season 3 of "iZombie" will also showcase Liv and Clive's "no more secrets" policy at work, a revolution among the zombies, flashbacks that will reveal key story elements, and a "dominatrix brain."

In an interview in April, Goodwin said that Clive will fully deal with "the ramifications of what happened" in the "iZombie" Season 2 finale. The revelations will be huge for Clive but Goodwin is excited to explore how the recent events will affect and change his character. The actor also expects Clive to help the team "find the cure," according to TVLine.

Rob Thomas previously said via Twitter that "iZombie" Season 3 won't be the show's last. This was after rumors surfaced about the program's cancellation after the third season.
