'The Girl On The Train' Movie Review: Film Darker Than The Book; Emily Blunt Holds It All Together!

Released last Oct 7, 2016, "The Girl on the Train" has finally hit the theaters last week! "The Girl on the Train", starred by Emily Blunt, is an intriguing murder-mystery kind of movie which was adapted from Paula Hawkin's novel.

Emily Blunt plays the lead character Rachel Watson in the "The Girl on the Train". The movie reveals Blunt's character struggling life after her divorce.

The depressed Rachel (Emily Blunt) rides the NY railway which travels to and from the city every day. For her to divert the pain she is feeling, she drinks every time she rides the train.

Rachel's trips riding the train has no specific destination, she just rides the train to numb herself. Once she passed through a neighborhood where she used to live. She stares from afar and developed an attachment to a loving couple who lives across the train station.

The perfect couple Scott and Megan live next door to her old home where Rachel's ex-husband still lives, along with his new family. To distract herself, Rachel focuses on Megan and her seemingly perfect life.

Rachel checks on Megan every time she passes by. One day she figured Megan had disappeared.

"The Girl on the Train" storyline has a fluctuating timeline. As Rachel proceeds in her quest to look for answers about Megan's disappearance, the story brings Megan's past back which interrupted the main plot. Also, Rachel's daily blackouts due to getting drunk aboard the train creates memory gaps which keep the audience engaged and curious.

The mystery of Megan's disappearance is not that complicated. Surely, "The Girl on the Train" audience will able to piece the puzzle together.

Reports have it that the movie gets darker than the book. The only way to find out is to watch the movie!

"The Girl on the Train" director Tata Taylor has done an extremely awesome job in making the movie a success. The strong and amazing visuals paired with commendable editing techniques brought the story to the big screen.
