'Longmire' Season 6 Renewal: New Season A Chance For Renewal Or Just A Closure For The Cliffhanger In Season 5? [SPOILERS]

Netflix's "Longmire" is one of the most popular TV shows today. Unfortunately, just like "The Vampire Diaries," "Grimm" and "Orphan Black" it is heading to its final run. However, there are rumors that "Longmire" Season 6 is a big break that might pave way for renewal.

"Longmire" fans petitioned that Netflix brings back the American crime drama TV series for another season. Everyone called Netflix's attention by promoting the hashtag #RenewLongmireNetflix.

It didn't take long and "Longmire" Season 6 is confirmed but it will be the last. Walt Longmire and the rest of the characters are bidding goodbye in the small screens for good.

However, there are rumors that "Longmire" Season 6 could be a break for the renewal of Season 7. If the new "Longmire" season will do well, Netflix might reconsider its fate and continue Walt Longmire and Vic's romance, who's wedding is reportedly the finale in "Longmire" Season 6.

On a side note, if "Longmire" Season 6's ratings continue to drop, then the upcoming season will just be as it is designed for, to provide a closure of the cliffhangers in the last season. "Longmire" Season 5 featured a number of open-ended scenarios that up to now fans are wondering what would happen next.

Parent Herald previously reported that among the cliffhangers that need to be addressed in "Longmire" Season 6 involves Standing Bear (Loud Diamond Philips). Without proper closure, the drama will be wasted and "Longmire" Season 6 is renewed for this purpose.

"Longmire" Season 6 will return with a time jump to speed up the events involving Walt Longmire's lawsuit, Vic's pregnancy and Malachi's recovery who almost died in the last season. Again, Walt and Vic's wedding could be the highlight of the finale but fans prefer Donna for Walt.

Meanwhile, if "Longmire" Season 7 is not renewed, a spinoff could be in the works. Robert Grant teases that he has plans for a spinoff after "Longmire" Season 6.

Are you happy that there will be spinoff after "Longmire" Season 6? Will the next season break its records and convince Netflix to renew "Longmire" Season 7? What do you prefer a new season or a spinoff? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
