The Autism Society of Albany, New York Intend To Elevate Public Awareness

Families in South Georgia that are coming up with autism, together with the help of caretakers, had gathered at Harvest Moon on Monday to aid in clearing up as well ask elucidating the autism spectrum disorder.

Kathryn Daniels, a member of the Society, said she wants to have awareness and at the same time wants acceptance not only for the kids because this is something that gives rise to grown-ups.

The Albany Autism Awareness group collected and raised funds for the community outreach to assist and help teach people about the broad scope of different necessities and the competence and capacity of those on the autism spectrum disorder.

With the presence of organizers, they hope that by joining, the community will end up friendlier, more welcoming, and more compassionate, and more supportive community that is needed by everyone living with autism.

Sonia Prescott, a member, said that it will be good if they [referring to people living with autism] saw that the people are amenable to give them a chance to be part of their organization or club or just little groups.

It is also useful for the caretakers of family members that suffer autism. It allows the caretakers to interchange some stories and provide advice for each other and just spend time and hang out according to a study by University At Albany.

Heather Johnson, another member, said that it was unbelievable to meet other people who share the same experiences with her and her family. She said it brings support to her and her family.

Many said that the support is something that advances in helping the community earn an improved picture of the often-misapprehended abnormal condition.

According to Web News 10, on Monday night, the Albany Autism Awareness group received a 10% donation from the Harvest Moon's profit.
