Things We Should Tell The Kids About The Election

The population worldwide is just surprised over the surprising and unexpected victory of the Republican, Donald Trump with more than 47 percent popular vote. Not just the entire world is thinking to reconsider their policies as they know they will get deeply affected by it.

The political environment in United States Of America has a profound impact in the entire world because of their high economic impact. But more than the rest of the world, the sexist and racial statements of now Mr. President Donald Trump have made the people of America insecure and unprotected, according to WTOP.

Though children are not usually affected by politics, the recent wave of discrimination in America has made parents and teachers feel unsafe about kids. These does ask for reassurance. According to Ali Michael, Ph.D., who is the director of K-12 consultancy, it is imperative to reassure your children that even in this insecure environment, you will keep them safe and protected.

He says that it is important to give them a feel of security, telling them that in a democratic system, one person does not own much authority to do a lot of damage.

In the context of a report on the SPLC, "The Trump Effect: The Impact of the Presidential Campaign on our Nation's Schools,'' released by Southern Poverty Law Center evaluating the current scenario, there exists an alarming level of fear and insecurity especially among kids of color.

They are deeply concerned that how the Trump's presidency will affect their shool management (they might deport them) and how will it change the behavior of their fellow mates with them (especially, the attitude of white towards black).

Michael further said that a lot of minority groups are feeling vulnerable, exposed and insecure. But despite her being a white woman, she will not be silent. She will fight against the ban on Muslims, suppression of gay rights and racial discrimination against black.
