UFC 205 Updates: Conor McGregor Makes UFC History, Knocks Out Alvarez For The Lightweight Crown; Is Diaz Rematch Next?

A new UFC record has been set. Last Saturday, Conor McGregor became the first UFC champion to hold belts in two different weight categories. The "Notorious One" knocked out Eddie Alvarez in the second round to claim the lightweight crown. The question now is: What's next for the Irishman?

Conor McGregor's victory was cemented when he knocked Eddie Alvarez for the fourth time in UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. However, the Philadelphian fighter managed to survive the first round despite being smashed by McGregor.

Eddie, on the hand, didn't answer to any of the Irish fighter's repeated assaults, but Eddie Alvarez was then knocked down again in the second round by the same flurry left hand of the "Notorious One' McGregor. That time, Alvarez was bound to lose the match. The referee stepped in and made the call.

According to Telegraph, Conor McGregor said during the post-UFC 205 match interview that the fight was not one bit surprising because all of them are not at McGregor's level. They all need to have a bigger size and longer reach. They have got to have some more attributes. If they come in any way that equals to the "Notorious One," the fight will end with their head ripped off by Conor McGregor and it happens every time.

McGregor said further that Eddie Alvarez was a solid competitor, a warrior, but he shouldn't have been in the octagon with Conor McGregor and that's just the only truth of it.

What Conor McGregor accomplished has never been done before and everything he has dreamed of is now becoming a reality. Conor has spent a lot of time slaying every opponent in the UFC. In fact, others have been dubbing McGregor as Dana White's favorite pet as the "Notorious One" rakes in money whenever he holds a fight or announces a match.

This is no wonder Conor McGregor is able to hold two belts from different weight categories at the same time. But what comes next is up to him, of course. Nate Diaz in fact has been itching for a rematch against the "Notorious One." Others have been wanting to challenge McGregor.

But to everyone's dismay, he fights whomever he wants, whenever he wants, and on his own terms. Meanwhile, Conor McGregor also revealed that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first baby in May, which could probably force him to take some time off.
