Google Nexus 7 2016 News: Will New Tablet Be Released In December? Specs, Price And Features Leaked

Google Nexus 7 was expected to be announced back in October when the tech giant released its newest phones Pixel X and Pixel XL. Speculations suggest that the new Google tablet might come out before 2017, in time for the Christmas holidays.

When Google rebranded its Nexus mobile smartphones into Pixel phones, rumors made rounds that the company will also change the name of its Nexus 7 tablet. Perhaps it could go with Pixel Pro, Venture Beat suggests, or Google Pixel 7.

Google is yet to make any official announcement regarding the development of its Nexus 7 2016. It was initially expected to be announced when the new Pixel phones came out, but that did not happen. Now that 2016 is almost over, some are starting to fear that the company is not launching the new Nexus 7 tablet until 2017. Some, though, remains positive that Nexus 7 will see the light in time for the holidays in December.

Back in September, Evan Blass announced on Twitter, "Google's Huawei-built 7-inch tablet, with 4GB RAM, on track for release before the end of the year," as Parent Herald previously reported.

In terms of its specs, the Google Nexus 7 will run the Andromeda OS, according to latest rumors. The 7-inch Google Nexus 7 2016 will have an AMOLED display, powered by 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 829 processor with Adreno 530 GPU.

Google Nexus 7 will also feature a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5,100mAh battery, and a USB Type-C connectivity. Fans hope that the new Google tablet will also thinner and lighter that its predecessors.

No specific figures have been leaked in terms of price, but many expect that it will be in an affordable range given that the Google Nexus 7 is expected to be of high-quality. The next Nexus tablet is expected to compete with Apple's upcoming iPad Pro that is anticipated to be launched in March 2017.
