"Big Bang Theory" is a really big hit. In fact the show has given record rating for CBS. It is rumored that there is a spinoff that is in the works. Early reports suggest that the spinoff is supposedly about Dr. Sheldon Cooper's childhood. We have decided to take a sneak peek as to what the spinoff of "The Big Bang Theory" would look like.

So, what do we know about Dr. Sheldon Cooper from "The Big Bang Theory?" Jim Parsons plays this quirky character and he does it incredibly well.

All the fans of "The Big Bang Theory" and especially of Dr. Sheldon Cooper already know that he grew up in Galveston, Texas, in a devout Christian home. His father passed away due to weight problems.

We have often seen his mother, Mary, who has appeared in various episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" and she is a kind, religious, right-wing Texan. In one episode, Sheldon describes her as a woman "with a slightly out of scale head and a mild Dr. Pepper addiction." Laurie Metcalf has played her in 10 episodes of "The Big Bang Theory."

Sheldon has a twin sister, Missy, and an older brother, George Jr. The character of Missy is played by Courtney Henggeler and appeared in only one episode of the first season of "The Big Bang Theory." George Jr. has been mentioned on the show but not featured, reported Fox News.

As a kid, Sheldon was often bullied and that led him to turn his attention to conducting science experiments. His grandfather, whom he calls Pop-Pop, was the only one who encouraged him to work in science. However, he passed away when Sheldon was 5-years-old, reported Screener.

As we see in "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon does not like Christmas because as a child his Christmas dream was to bring his Pop-Pop back to life. This wish has never come true.

It is a well-known fact among "The Big Bang Theory" fans that Sheldon was a child prodigy who at 11-years-old, attended college and earned his Ph.D. at 16. The rumored spinoff has not been confirmed by CBS or producer Chuck Lorre. It is rumored that Parsons will have a behind-the-scenes role on the possible show.
