'Sons Of Anarchy' Spin-Off & Prequel; Charlie Hunnam Officially Out, But This SOA Character Is Confirmed To Return!

"Sons of Anarchy" prequel updates slowly take a back seat as more details about the SOA spin-off "Mayans MC" surface online. Not a lot has been disclosed about Kurt Sutter's new project, but new reports seem to confirm that fans of the well-loved series will see a familiar face once the show airs.

While a lot of fans are hoping that the familiar face would be Charlie Hunnam's, "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off and prequel updates confirm that it will be Emilio Rivera's Marcus Alvarez who will be reprising his role in the new series. Rivera recently confirmed his return via Instagram when he posted a photo that ended all speculations about his involvement.

Cinema Blend noted that although it is still not sure whether Marcus Alvarez will be part of every single "Sons of Anarchy" spin-off episode, it sure is reassuring to see a character that fans can instantly relate to. The outlet is also hopeful that after Rivera's recent confirmation, more familiar faces will also return to reprise their roles in the spin-off.

As for the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel, reports have previously claimed that the new project will be entitled "The First 9." Although there has been a few to no mention of the prequel online, the online community still hopes that the project is still a go.

Previous "Sons of Anarchy" prequel updates claimed that the series will explore the beginnings of the motorcycle club that was co-founded by Jax Teller's father, John. It has been previously speculated that A-list actor, Brad Pitt, has been chosen to play the lead role.
