“Overwatch” News & Updates: Check Out What Sombra Can and Cannot Hack; Sombra Cannot Hack Sombra?

When "Overwatch" newest champion Sombra enters the Public Test Region (PTR), "Overwatch" players with access to the PTR were given the chance to test out the much-awaited hacker heroine in battle before she goes into the live servers. Check out the limits of her hacking skills.

According to The Verge, "Overwatch" Sombra isn't as strong and tough as she's made out to be even with her superb hacking skills. Sombra's hacking skills can be interrupted when she takes damage and can't disrupt passive abilities like Genji's cyber-agility.

"Overwatch" Sombra also can't disrupt ultimate skills that have continuous effect like Soldier: 76's tactical visor. However, she can stop ultimate abilities that need to be charged or channelled like Roadhog's Whole hog ultimate ability.

When going up against another "Overwatch" Sombra, utilizing hacking skills or even the Ultimate EMP ability will not disable the enemy Sombra's thermoptic camo once it has been activated but will deactivate all her other skills. "Overwatch" Sombra's ultimate can be disrupted by an enemy Sombra depending on who activates the ability first.

Meanwhile, "Overwatch" Junkrat's Steel Trap can't be hacked, and even when Sombra's using thermoptic camo, it will still be able to catch her. Junckrat's ultimate ability Rip-Tire cannot be stopped once released.

Some "Overwatch" characters have abilities that change their form like Torbjorn and Mei. Once these characters have shifted forms, they cannot be hacked. Torbjorn's molten core form cannot be hacked and EMP just as Mei's cryo-freeze form cannot be EMP'ed.

"Overwatch" Bastion's Sentry mode can be hacked and will return him to Recon mode. But his Tank configuration mode cannot be hacked or disrupted.

When it comes to turrets, "Overwatch" Sombra won't be able to hack Symmetra's turrets or even destroy them using the EMP ultimate. However, the turrets can't attack Sombra when she activates her thermoptic camo.

"Overwatch" Sombra, however, can hack Torbjron's turrets given that they don't attack her. It can also be destroyed by Sombra's EMP.
