‘Battlefield 1’ News & Updates: Review For PS4 Pro, Xbox One; Stunning Graphics and Single-Player Mode?

After winning the Game Critics Awards' best Action Game after E3 this year, "Battlefield 1" delivered on its promise to PS4 Pro and Xbox One players after the game hit shelves last October 21. The fifth installment in the "Battlefield" series left gamers amazed with its stunning graphics and exciting single-player campaign mode.

According to EuroGamer, "Battlefield 1" graphics are "fascinating," in the PS4 Pro and Xbox One with resolutions clearly increased and more evident when running on a 4K screen. In their analysis, resolution in campaign levels of "Battlefield 1" could reach as high as 1656p.

Eurogamer also mentioned massive improvements in overall image quality when playing "Battlefield 1" on the PS4 Pro and running it on a 4K screen. However, "Battlefield 1" resolution is limited somewhere between 1080 and 4k, per report. This limits "Battlefield 1" graphic quality on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One, similarly with games such as "Uncharted 2" and "Titanfall 2."

When down-sampled to 1080p in the PS4 Pro, "Battlefield 1" has beyond satisfying quality, with clear visual upgrade over the base PS4 Pro title, and is even further improved when attached to a 4K screen.

As for the game's single-player campaign, "Battlefield 1" setting is "both engaging and poignant" according to PCWorld. The game is set in World War 1 and comprises different stories surrounding the war and gives a different take on the historical war from other PS4 Pro and Xbox One shooter games.

"Rather than try to tell one monolithic story encompassing the whole of the war, 'Battlefield 1' is instead broken up into six mini-campaigns, dubbed 'War Stories,' spanning from 1915 to just before the war's end in 1918," PCWorld mentions in their report.

PCWorld also talks about how "Battlefield 1" campaign frames the First World War differently from other shooters for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One, focusing more on the perspective of the ordinary people rather than building up a fictional hero. Trench battles, which were an essential part of World War 1, were barely touched in "Battlefield 1."
