CW has just announced its midseason premiere dates, including the air date of "Reign" season 4. Fans of "Reign" will now see their beloved royal characters when season 4 airs on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017. Meanwhile, some cast has shared teaser photos on their social media accounts.

The writers of the series also took to its Twitter account the announcement, encouraging the fans to mark their calendars as "Reign" season 4 will be back on Friday at 9 p.m. beginning Feb. 10 next year. The new season will be aired right after "The Vampires Diaries." The writers further teased that fans should prepare for "one heck" of season 4.

The stars of "Reign" were also excited with the release date announcement for season 4. Adelaide Kane (Mary) and Rachel Skarsten (Elizabeth) took to their Twitter accounts the Feb. 10, 2017 release date news. Some teaser photos are now circulating too. Rachel Skarsten displayed a photo of her with Ben Geurens (Gideon) on her Instagram account. Ben Geurens also shared a screenshot from the camera roll of one scene from season 4 and shared it to his Instagram account, teasing what fans can expect from the new season of "Reign." The actor also posted a photo of him and Craig Parker (Narcisse), teasing a feud between Gideon and Narcisse might explode in the upcoming season 4 of "Reign."

With regard to the plot, reports claim that the upcoming season 4 of "Reign" will delve around the historical events in the life of Mary. Fans of the two queens will witness the greatest rivalry between Elizabeth and Mary. Unfortunately for the fans of Mary, reports predict Elizabeth will be on the victory side when "Reign" returns for season 4.

However, fans of "Reign" will also see how Mary will not just give up her throne. It was also reported that Elizabeth will make use of all her power, so Bash (Torrance Coombs) is rumored to come back to help save Mary from the assassination plot of her cousin.
