Public Education: The Key Towards A More Inclusive Society?

Public education is the key to success as it is the force that seems to unify the nation despite how diversity appears to be prevalent in this society. Thomas Jefferson quotes public education as the only reliable means to ensure the preservation of the liberty of the country as its purpose is to educate and inform the mass public.

Public schools are one of the very few avenues where people can unite despite the differences that they all have. It is also the place where children can meet people from different walks of life, may they be people of color or another gender.

Public School Review emphasizes ten advantages of attaining public education, and one of those advantages is that it enables students to be more sympathetic to other children in their class, especially those who are treated "differently" by society such as being handicapped, etc. Students are also able to reserve their judgments and prejudices given the inclusive of public schools.

A study by Dana Mitra Ph.D. points out that public education inherently has plenty of social and economic benefits, and that schools should continue to invest in its facilities and other resources to strengthen these long-term investments. The study also points out that investment in such remedies will make sure that these schools become or remain quality schools and would thus produce quality graduates for society.

Public education is a unifying factor for each and every person as these students are taught not to see these people with their handicaps or their skin color, but rather what they truly are as a person. Public education is readily available and inexpensive, and is thus part of a preventive solution of a much meaner place, so that when all is said and done, these children or students will lavish on a more inclusive society.
