'Fresh Off The Boat' Season 3 Episode 5 Recap: No Thanksgiving For The Huang Family This Year?

"Fresh Off The Boat" Season 3 Episode 5 is about this year's Thanksgiving, which is very different compared to last year's celebration. The Huang family decided to open the Cattleman's Ranch for Thanksgiving, Jessica Huang's idea to work on a holiday.

"Fresh Off The Boat" Season 3 Episode 5 started with Jessica proving to the Huang family that Thanksgiving is not a relevant holiday for their family's history and tradition. She made some points including the squash she makes during Thanksgiving that nobody really eats and the painting that's not presented with any of their ancestors. However, making a business out of celebrating it at Cattleman's Ranch seems to be a good idea.

This week's episode of "Fresh Off The Boat" doesn't only focus on Jessica's idea but also Eddie's, Vulture reported. Eddie Huang, the eldest son of Jessica and Louis Huang, has figured out that middle school grades don't really count compared to High School and College.

After Eddie found out about the truth about Middle School, he decided not to do his homework and figured he can just inherit the Cattleman's Ranch, which Louis was so happy about. However, Jessica is not thrilled to consider that her son is quickly turning into a bum so she took away Eddie's bed as a punishment.

"Fresh Off The Boat" Season 3 Episode 5 showed Eddie being untamed towards the punishment and decided to just sleep on his pile of T-shirts. Evan and Emery also overheard and misunderstood that they can also inherit the Cattleman's Ranch and that made Louis happier than ever.

The Thanksgiving day of the Huang's started smoothly up until Louis and Jessica got into an argument about their sons, especially Eddie. Jessica never hopes for her sons to inherit the Cattleman's Ranch and Louis got mad, for the first time in the whole duration of "Fresh Off The Boat."

Jessica Huang didn't get the reason why Louis was very mad at her. Jessica's focus of getting Eddie out of his thoughts on not studying made her hurt Louis' feelings. However, Jessica has a point and clearly pointed out that kids do not really know what they want yet for the future.

"Fresh Off The Boat" Season 3 Episode 5 ended up with Jessica pointing out that she just wants her sons to reach their dreams and the Cattleman's Ranch was Louis' American dream that he has achieved for himself. As a mother who cares about her children and their future, Jessica believes in hard work to achieve high goals and dreams.
