Parenting Trends: What Could Possibly Go Wrong While Being A Parent

To be a mother or a father is not just having a baby, it's about so much more. Parenthood is a package of "the goods," "the bads" and sometimes "the ugly" that everyone has to accept without complaints. However, there comes a time when parents are all worn out and sidetracked from being an effective parent. In the modern era, parents do things that certainly cannot be called wise or even appropriate.

The use of internet has made it easier for everyone to know what's happening and in which area or to be popular but such things though are not always right especially in parenting. Just like "sharenting" or the act wherein parents are excessively sharing the photos of their children on social media. This has become one of the most popular parenting trends today.

Speaking of parenting trends, there are some that are downright silly. According to Stuff, names are the most important things in children's lives as they serve as an identity for them but some parents give their children hybrid names that don't even sound like names. This affects the way a child would perceive him or herself in the future.

In recent times, parents have so many expectations for their children that even infants at times are being involved into so many activities and this a false practice as it's sucha  wastage of money, time and energy. A couple of activities are alright for children but overscheduling them is a different thing.

Every mother has a child different from other kids in terms of attributes, behaviors and nature. Therefore, mothers must do what they think is best for their child but imposing their ideas and techniques on other moms is definitely unethical.

According to The Spinoff, one child's crying is not always the same as the other and the underlying causes could be different and should be treated accordingly. Some parents go an extra mile to make children realize their mistakes and ask them to admit it in public or even worse, humiliate them in front of other people. What seems to be not a big deal to parents may actually hurt children, leaving them feeling insulted.

Social media is full of images of babies who are in a neat and tidy surrounding and always smiling. But such images can be sometimes unbelievable and misleading. Babies are not always clean, they cry a lot and their rooms could be messy at times and it is normal for every mom to understand these things rather showing only a sophisticated side of a child.

It is important that parents should take extra precautions in parenting. The reason? One wrong parenting trend could be detrimental in a child's life and could make millions of lives miserable.
