‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ Survival Expansion Launches For Xbox One, PC; When Is PS4 Release?

"Tom Clancy's The Division's" second paid expansion called "Survival" has gone live but only for the Xbox One and PC. The PlayStation 4 version will launch on Dec. 20, 2016.

"Tom Clancy's The Division: Survival" DLC was previously delayed due to lingering issues. The expansion is described as an endurance test in a very hostile environment and brutal weather conditions. Survival is set within a brutal snowstorm wherein the player must scavenge his way to survival while fending off other agents and the new antagonist called the hunter who's prowling the area. Unlockable items in "Survival" include six new high-end named gear pieces, three high-end named weapons and 12 new weapon types. A new difficulty mode is also introduced, which is called World Tier 5.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is an action-RPG set in the virus-plagued neighborhoods of New York City. "Tom Clancy's The Division" is one of those open-world third-person shooters wherein the player needs to explore and loot in order to level up. "The Division" is composed of several side-missions, story-missions, and encounters with other players.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" was not received well when it was launched. Most of the critics gave a low score due to the game being barren and unengaging overall. The game was also criticized for its fractured upgrade system, which means that it requires players to visit certain areas of the game in order to upgrade. Amidst all the criticisms, "Tom Clancy's The Division" did well in its first week generating $330 million in global sales, according to UBIBLOG.

The first expansion of "Tom Clancy's The Division" called "Underground" was released on June 28, 2016. Underground is the game's first paid expansion composed of new gears and missions, however, the missions in underground cannot be completed by a solo player, according to GameSpot.
