Classic Solitaire Game Can Now be Played on iOS and Android Devices

Solitaire, a classic game on the Microsoft Windows PC, is now available for mobile devices running on iOS and Android. This is the first time Solitaire is venturing out of the Windows system that has kept it for the past 25 years.

The mobile version of Solitaire, called "Solitaire Collection," will include the game modes FreeCell, Klondike, Spider, Tripeaks and Pyramid, Engadget reports. Each of the five game modes in Solitaire Collection features daily challenges and four difficulty levels.

To play Klondike, users have to clear all the cards from the table by drawing one or three cards. Both Traditional and Vegas scorings are available in this game mode.

Eight columns of cards await Spider players, and they have to clear them all with the fewest possible moves. For Free Cell, players need to be strategic in using four extra cells to move cards around and clear the table of them.

Pyramid players, meanwhile, have to combine two cards that add up to 13 in order to remove them from the board. The challenge is to reach the pyramid's top and clear as many boards as possible.

Finally, Tripeaks involves selecting cards in a sequence, earning combo points, and as in other game modes, clearing as many boards as possible before a player runs out of deals.

The Solitaire Collection will have many of the same features as the classic version of the game, including shuffling sounds and jumping cards when a player wins, according to the Telegraph. Those who can't let go of the original Windows game can sync it with the mobile version and build their scores across multiple devices.

The Solitaire Collection will have Xbox Live integration to allow players to interact with one another and earn rewards. The standard edition of Solitaire Collection is free, but if you hate advertisements, there is a premium version that costs $1.99.
