Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo Sets Another La Liga Record During Game Against Sporting Gijon

Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo scored over 30 goals in one La Liga calendar year for seven consecutive years, the first player ever to have achieved this feat. Real Madrid won the game against Sporting Gijon last Saturday with a 2-1 victory, where the Portuguese player hit his milestone.

As another Real Madrid victory came to a conclusion, the star player Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo yet again broke his record. So, which record did Ronaldo did break? Well, the three-time Ballon d'Or winner broke his two goals. This means that he has scored 31 in La Liga goals over the course of 2016, according to GMS.

Although Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo's goals were enough to secure a spot for Zinedine Zidane's La Liga leaders, he still becomes the first player in La Liga history to score 30 or more La Liga goals in seven successive calendar years.

Overall, the 31-year-old Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo has 10 goals in 15 appearances in all matches during the 2016 season, in addition to six assists for his teammates. But this isn’t the first record that Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo has broken.

Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo recently became the highest ever scorer in Madrid derbies after netting a hat trick against Atletico Madrid last week. He is indeed currently one of the most formidable players in the field in full form, per Metro UK.

In the meantime, after the win against Sporting Gijon, there are only two more league fixtures to finish for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Deportivo, by the end of 2016.
