'Interview With The Vampire' Author Anne Rice Acquired Film Rights to 'The Vampire Chronicles,' TV Series In the Making

In a lengthy Facebook post, gothic fiction and "Interview With The Vampire" author Anne Rice announced that she has acquired full film rights to her "The Vampire Chronicles." In fact, the best-selling author intends to make a TV series out of the book.

"The theatrical rights to the Vampire Chronicles are once again in my hands, free and clear!," "Interview With The Vampire" author Ann Rice announced Saturday. "A television series of the highest quality is now my dream for Lestat, Louis, Armand, Marius and the entire tribe."

Meanwhile, gothic fiction and "Interview With The Vampire" author Anne Rice will release her latest "The Vampire Chronicles" book "Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis: The Vampire Chronicles" on November 29, Tuesday, in a report by ComingSoon.

According to The Wrap, gothic fiction and "Interview With The Vampire" author Anne Rice will be working with her son Christopher, who will be developing the pilot script for "The Vampire Chronicles." "The Vampire Lestat" would likely be the starting point of the series and the story would move on from that point.

Deadline reported that "The Vampire Chronicles" of gothic fiction author Anne Rice began with "Interview with the Vampire" in 1976. The film adaptation of "Interview With The Vampire" which was released in November 1994 starred Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, and Kirsten Dunst and was distributed by Warner Bros.

As a matter of fact, the film "Interview With The Vampire" received Oscar nominations for Best Original Score and Best Art Direction, with Dunst being nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. "Interview with the Vampire" focuses on Lestat (played by actor Tom Cruise) and Louis (Brad Pitt).

In 1791, Lestat transformed Louis into a vampire, to which the film  "Interview With The Vampire" began. The narrative of the film "Interview With The Vampire" is on a present-day interview with Louis where he tells his story. Meanwhile, another adaptation of gothic fiction and "Interview With The Vampire" author Anne Rice's novels has made it to the big screen in 2002 entitled "Queen of the Damned" starring Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend.

"The Vampire Chronicles" film rights were previously acquired by Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment in 2014. Now that "Interview With The Vampire" author Ann Rice has full film rights to "The Vampire Chronicles," fans are looking forward to the TV series adaptation, since her novels redefined the vampire genre beginning in the 1970s and 1980s.
