Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron are believed to have gone through a bad breakup. Back then, the couple refused to reveal the reason behind their split, but the 27-year-old actress recently opened up and explained why she and Efron broke up.

According to Capital FM, it was Efron's popularity that got in the way of their relationship, which blossomed on the set of the Disney movie, "HSM." The actress explained that she was already becoming someone different from who she really is.

Hudgens recounted that she would get jealous when girls ran after Efron. She shared that the relationship was bringing out the worst in her, which is why they decided to end their relationship.

Both Hudgens and Efron have already moved on from their relationship with different partners, but several fans continue to hope for a reunion between the former couple. The 29-year-old actor continues to have close ties with his co-stars from "High School Musical," so it is not entirely impossible to see Zanessa back together.

As People reports, the "High School Musical" cast recently had a mini reunion, as Efron attended Corbin Bleu's show on Broadway along with Lucas Grabeel. Bleu told the publication that he was touched to see the actor give him a standing ovation.

Disney also announced that "High School Musical 4" was in the works. While the upcoming sequel will no longer feature the original cast, many fans remain optimistic that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will show up as cameos for the new movie.
