‘Poldark’ Season 3 Spoilers & Air Date: Aidan Turner Out, Series Recasting Ross? New Vital Characters Announced!

"Poldark" has been renewed for a third season quite a long time ago. Of course, this made fans of the historical drama excited for what's more to come, especially for Ross (Aidan Turner). The captivating character will return to "Poldark" Season 3 but there are speculations that he will be portrayed by a different and older actor by that time.

There are some rumors that Turner's involvement with "Poldark" would not last long because the Ross character will undergo physical changes, meaning he will get older in Season 3. Turner already confirmed that there was a huge time jump between the books that "Poldark" was based on, and the series will be following that. The actor shared that Ross "gets older" and he can't certainly "pull of mid-50s," the Hall of Fame Magazine reported.

Debbie Horsfield, one of the writers for "Poldark," said that Season 3 will showcase an older Ross "but not necessarily wiser, and his recklessness sometimes costs him, and his loved ones, dear." An older Ross teased by Turner and Horsfield definitely fits the bill for an older actor in the role.

It remains to be seen whether this speculation would come true. It should be noted as well that Turner is in the "James Bond" rumor mill. There are rumors that the actor would replace Daniel Craig in the film franchise and this may complicate his commitment to "Poldark."

"Poldark" Season 3 will focus on one and a half of Winston Graham's "Poldark" novels, Digital Spy reported. The third season will tell the story of Cornwall citizens and the challenges they face during the French Revolution. It will also center on Ross' betrayal of Elizabeth (Heida Reed), whose child may be his.

New faces will grace "Poldark" Season 3. Elizabeth's brothers will be introduced and they will be portrayed by Tom York and Harry Richardson. Josh Whitehouse, meanwhile, will portray an important character named Hugh Armitage, a romantic aristocrat.

"Poldark" Season 3 started shooting months ago. CarterMatt speculated that PBS would likely air the third season in the spring in Britain, with the United States possibly following a few weeks later.

"Poldark" Season 2 ended with Ross and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) confirming their love for each other, Decider wrote. Together, the two will fight many wars in their lifetime.
