‘Chicago Fire’ Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: Firefighters "Lift Each Other" As Family

The “Lift Each Other” episode of “Chicago Fire” Season 5 focuses on family. This has been the long-standing theme of the show and its most recent episode totally represents it.

The episode centers on the Dawson siblings and their parents as they celebrate their anniversary. The siblings were thinking it’s a celebration of marriage, but actually, it's their parents way of announcing that they’re getting a divorce.

Antonio (Jon Seda) eventually realizes that it could have been his father’s fault. So, he goes straight at him. Luckily, his team was able to pacify the situation, as recapped by TV Fanatic.

Fans and viewers also see Casey (Jesse Spencer) in a worse situation as the team gets to save two kids in a warehouse. The conscious kid had broken his legs from a fall while the another kid is hanging upside down. His foot is caught in between shelves while he’s unconscious.

Just like any cases in “Chicago Fire” Season 5, Casey saves the kids and brings him to the hospital. However, he learns that he’s in a coma. Casey was thinking whether or not he did something to the kid to cause his situation or not.

What’s even worse is that, when Casey visits the kid in the hospital, he learned that the kid passed away. This really hits Casey hard.

During the episode, fans also see Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) and James reconnect. James even sees himself as part of the team, even sees himself become part of Fire House 51 in “Chicago Fire.”

Boden loves the idea, but he also wants to ask the opinion of his ex-wife Shonda. When he went to talk to her, he found out that her new boyfriend has been physically abusing their son. Unfortunately, Shonda didn’t know about the incidents, Entertainment Weekly recaps.

The family has emerged tonight in “Chicago Fire” Season 5 Episode 7; when will the firefighters be taken on next episode?
