‘Planet Earth II’ Episode 5 Reviews: Is The Show Editing Out The Real Story Of Nature? Details Here!

BBC One's "Planet Earth II" is by far the best nature documentary to date overall - from its cinematography to the choices of species to be featured. Now on its fifth episode with a running title "Grasslands", the viewers are set to meet five amazing animals: the Saiga Antelopes, the foxes, the lions, the Carmine bee-eaters and the bisons.

The makers of "Planet Earth II" once again never failed to deliver an extraordinary experience taking the viewers to different grasslands around the world and introducing the species that live within. But this episode was different and as described in an article written by The International Business Times, the episode was intense. There was a lot of chasing and escaping and viewers are kept on the edge of their seats feeling torn between wanting the buffalo to escape from the lions but also hoping that it [buffalo] gets killed so the little cubs could eat.

However, the observations of viewers do not stop there, hence they noticed that every time there is a struggle between the predator and the prey, the prey somehow manages to escape and in real life that just does not happen all the time. According to CinemaBlend, there was also an instance where more than 150,000 Saiga Antelope died from a sickness while the crew was filming the grasslands episode - a very tragic event nonetheless but was not even included in the feature.

With that in mind, speculations rose that probably the makers of 'Planet Earth II' was shielding the reality from the viewers and just getting what looks nice and exciting for their viewer's amusement. And on an interview by IBT, Producer Chadden Hunter said that the crew does not have any control of what would happen every time they were filming, they have no control over the lions and the buffalos. And when asked about the death of the Saiga Antelopes, Hunter said that the whole crew was devastated and emotional and thought that they were watching the extinction of the Saiga Antelopes before their eyes.

"Planet Earth II" debuts on BBC America on January 28, 2017, Saturday. Stay tuned for more spoilers and updates.
