State of Decay 2 News and Updates: 'State of Decay 2' Offers Larger-Than-Ever Map; Allows for Co-Op Free Roam?

When it comes to running away from a hoard of zombies, it's best to have large ,open spaces to roam around. And that's what Undead Labs, developer of the upcoming zombie-survival game "State of Decay 2" for Xbox and PC has to offer fans of the franchise.

According to Gamespot, "state of Decay 2" will have a much larger world than the first "state of decay" game that came out in 2013. However, no specifics on the map size or playable area were given in the report.

The previous "State of Decay," which came out on the Xbox and PC, got a generally positive response from game critics back in 2013. "State of Decay" has key features like building outposts and leading a small group of survivors against zombies to ensure the community's survival. "State of Decay" had a game map size of 16 square kilometers, with an 8 square kilometer playable area.

One major key feature of "State of decay" is that it gives players several locations to build a base for their small group of survivors, they can then improve their base to keep hoards of zombies away from the community and build areas like medical bays and kitchens to keep survivors alive and well. Players will also have to manage resources like food and ammo that they obtain from scavenging or trading with NPCs, similar to "Fallout 4."

Players can also take control of various characters in "State of Decay," and AI-Controlled characters can accompany the player in certain missions. Characters have their own set of traits and characteristics that make each character unique. And even though it came out on Xbox and PC, multiplayer co-op mode was not available in the first "State of Decay" Game.

While "State of Decay 2" will also have these major features, multiplayer co-op play will now be available on both the Xbox and PC. And per IGN, Player can have up to three friends to play with them in multiplayer co-op  and not the MMO style that Undead Labs had previously claimed.

And despite ith being a multiplayer co-op, players will have the option to stick together of split up in the vast world of "State of Decay 2." While players can't go against one another directly in multiplayer co-op mode, they will be able to use environmental factors like NPCs and attracting zombies to aggravate a player's community.
