Apple Concedes To Pressure, Admits iPhone 6S Has Battery Problems

Apparently, Samsung's battery issue that made its Galaxy Note 7 the center of controversy is not an isolated problem anymore. Recently, Apple "quietly" admitted that a number of iPhone 6 models have defective batteries after Chinese users and the country's Consumer Association pressured them to disclose the predicament.

A number of sources indicated that Apple posted a statement on their Chinese website entitled "A Message from Apple about iPhone and Unexpected Shutdowns". According to Forbes, Samsung's rival confessed that they have received a number of complaints about iPhones shutting down unexpectedly and that they are taking "every customer concern very seriously". In addition, the Cupertino-based tech titan said that some customers have also experienced what they claim to be the "30% Bug", or the instance the iPhone shuts off when the battery dips to 30%.

The website exposed that while Apple is maintaining that the iPhone 6S is the only variant that deals with the problem, Apple executive Tony Fadell twitted that his iPhone 6S+ was affected. Meanwhile, further reports are claiming that the 30% Bug has been present in "most iPhones released in the last 4 years". These include the iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5. Only the iPhone 7 and 7S remain to be unaffected.

BRG meanwhile reported that Apple's new notice opined that it needs "more information" and that they will conduct "additional diagnostic feature" to the new iOS update. Initially, Apple said that "air contaminated individual battery components" and in turned caused the devices to shut down. They offered free repair to those units, although only the iPhone 6S sold between September and October 2015 are eligible.

These issues only prove that issues, whether how big or how small, can retain a company as big as Samsung and Apple, as a mere player rather than an immovable object. Both names have been open in their claim to reinvigorate their next flagships, and woes like the infamous cease in the production of the Galaxy Note 7 and Apple's legal crusade will motivate them to pursue their vision.
