Is A ‘Doctor Strange’ Sequel Coming Soon? Here’s Where Strange Will Be In 2017

“Doctor Strange,” portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, is one of this year’s blockbuster films. Fans are now asking whether there’ll be a sequel anytime soon.

For now, Scott Derrickson, Marvel director, already has an idea for a “Doctor Strange” sequel. The director wants to explore the realm of Nightmare. So, how does this work?

Derrickson would want to create a dimension of Nightmare. It can be recalled that the concept is part of the early stages of the tale of Strange. The director admitted that he loved that introductory part of the story.

Nightmare was first introduced in the “Doctor Strange in Strange Tales #110." This was released in July 1963 wherein the Nightmare rules the Dream Dimension.

Physically, Nightmare is described as black with green colored hair. He rides a horse with horns called Dreamstalker.

With this idea on hand, Derrickson concluded that it could have been an excellent decision that they didn’t introduce Nightmare in the first film. It’s best to create a series of introductory points especially now that there’s a high possibility that a “Doctor Strange” sequel can come to life, IGN reports.

However, it’s clear that the sequel won’t be here soon. First, Doctor Strange will be joining “Thor: Ragnarok.” This was revealed in the mid-credit scene of the film when Thor (Chris Hemsworth) asks help from his father in the Sanctum Santorum.

“Doctor Strange” sequel also seems to be the least priority of the Marvel universe for now. There’s also a hint that Strange will also be part of “Avengers: Infinity War.” However, “Avengers” is expected to hit the theaters in 2018 considering that the schedules of the stars don't align, Heavy reports.

There’s still no confirmation of “Doctor Strange” 2, but Derrickson is optimistic of the sequel. It’s also clear that fans of the doctor are also excited to see him on the big screen again, soon.
