Olivier Rousteing Praises 'Victoria Secret 2016' Models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner As They Fight To End Runway Hunger

Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing opens up about Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner stating how impressed he is with the girls as they push for positive body image. On one of his interviews, Rousteing mentioned that both Victoria Secret models make sure that they do not starve themselves before their big day.

During his interview with Vogue Rousteing mentioned how strong Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner is as they defy the norms of putting an end to skinny girls on the runway. He mentioned that Hadid and Jenner are both setting a positive example when it comes to body image, stating that both girls, are not only beautiful, but they are intelligent as well.

"They're beautiful and have so much personality, in fashion people don't want to see hunger now, you want to see strong girls that actually have something to say," Rousteing said during an interview with Vogue. "Gigi and Kendall are so strong and powerful and so so smart and that's what you want in girls to inspire the new generation."

Victoria Secret was previously slammed for starving their models, where it was mentioned that some of them would work out endlessly and avoid eating just for them to have a spot on the runway. Former VS model Erin Heatherton, 27, opens up about her experience where she stated that she was turned out several times as she was not skinny enough, which impacted her views on body image.

"My last two Victoria's Secret shows, I was told I had to lose weight," Former VS model Erin Heatherton told Motto. "I look back, like, "really? I was really depressed because I was working so hard and I felt my body was resisting me. I realized I couldn't go out into the world-parading my body and myself in front of all these women who look up to me-and tell them that this is easy and simple and everyone can do this."
