'Gotham City Sirens' Movie Update: 'Suicide Squad' Star Margot Robbie Joins Cast As Part Of DC's All-Female Villain Group

Written by Paul Dini, "Gotham City Sirens" is coming back with David Ayer and an additional member to its all-female villain group. The 26-year-old Margot Robbie will be returning to cast in DC Comics' villain series. Margot Robbie is not new to the team as she is just reprising her famous antagonist role Harley Quinn.

"Gotham City Sirens" is a new series which revolves around lady villains. Among the lady villains to be featured in the series are Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.

Margot Robbie's character is considered as one of the most popular lady villains in Batman's gallery, Hollywood Reporter said. Harley Quinn will also play as The Joker's casual girlfriend in the series. As per Margot Robbie, she is trying to reunite her character and Jared Leto's character as she believes that there is still much to explore and experiment with their tandem.

Warner Bros. and Margot Robbie signed the initial deal for her Harley Quinn role which confirms her lockup in the series and fans can now expect to see more of Robbie. The DC Comics series is co-produced by Margot Robbie with its script written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

The sci-fi film "Suicide Squad" was described by Warner Bros. as a tough project to craft, DailyMail reported. Despite the challenge, the movie earned over $700 million worldwide, beating "Deadpool".

Speculations are rife about fans expecting a "Suicide Squad" sequel to happen but there are others suggesting that a "Deadshot" spinoff has also become an option. Showrunners still have to confirm these suppositions.

On the other hand, fans should get ready for more DC movies to be released next year. "Wonder Woman" and "Justice Leauge" will be shown in June and November respectively.

As for "Sirens", its premiere date is yet to be announced. Warner Bros. assured that the series' production is ongoing and fans can expect the series to show real soon.

How do you feel about Margot Robbie and David Ayer reuniting? According to reports, Ayer just recently returned to Warners after his recent box office movie, "Suicide Squad".
