‘Street Fighter 5’ Leaks: Capcom Will Introduce New Penalties For Rage-Quitting Players & More!

Capcom is expected to release a massive patch for "Street Fighter 5" on December 20. However, they might have accidentally leaked the patch's content. Also, leaked screenshots were shared by a NeoGAF user showing tutorial tips for new punishments.

One Reddit user noted that the Steam database of "Street Fighter 5" recently received an update with a new beta branch, per VG247. This isn't new to games on Steam as most of them usually release patches for testing purpose prior to a public launch. But these beta releases should be password-protected.

Capcom must have forgotten to lock "Street Fighter 5." As expected, dataminers quickly grabbed the next big thing, an opportunity dive right in because the door was left open. Logically though, when Capcom noticed this, they immediately sealed the beta branch but not quick enough for one NeoGAF user.

According to Moaradin, the NeoGAF user who leaked the beta build of "Street Fighter 5," new punishments for rage-quitting players will be introduced in the upcoming patch. This will be in the form of a badge.

A rage-quitting player will receive a death's head icon, which will be displayed on their profile. For players who don't rage-quit, they will receive a shield icon, as reported by GameSpot.

Not only this, matchmaking restriction and currency fines will also be included in the soon-to-be-released patch for "Street Fighter 5." As the tutorial tooltip reads: "Penalties will be incurred for disconnecting during a match, including LP (League Points) reduction, and temporary matchmaking restrictions."

Plus, the patch for "Street Fighter 5" will feature player's ability to change the music track, per PCGamer. The personalized music track can be played during training, ranked, versus, and casual matches. Another thing is that players will also be able to choose the theme of any character of stage. And minor details like general menu text and icons have also been updated.

In other "Street Fighter 5" news, a new character is joining the fight scene in Season 2. This will be in the form of Akuma. An airplane fight stage is set for Rashid and a crossover mod will have players fighting on the streets as the "Overwatch" hacker Sombra.

Check out "Street Fighter 5" when the patch launches on Dec. 20.
