'Live By Night' Up For An Oscar; Critics Say It Has Weak Chances Because Of Disappointing Reviews? [DETAILS HERE]

Known for his directing and acting skills, Ben Affleck has done it again with his latest movie "Live by Night." With its promising story from the sprawling crime novel by Dennis Lehane. Producing the movie under the Warner Bros. Picture Studio, the Affleck produced movie has already earned an estimated $33,000 from its limited release last Christmas Day of this year.

Following the footsteps of one's parent is expected from a son or daughter especially when your dad is a prominent police chief. But more often times than not, the children goes astray and follows his or her own ambition on what they really want in life and what their heart truly desires.

This is the plot of the movie "Live by Night" as Joe Coughlin (played by the director, writer and producer himself, Ben Affleck) goes astray and goes down into a gradual descent into the criminal underworld, according to Rotten Tomatoes. Living dangerously and how one gets away from it is interestingly showcased in the film.

Capturing the strong violence, use of foul language throughout and some sexual and nude scenes, the 128-minute movie "Live by Night" received an R-rating. But it was compensated by its artistic visual style on how it portrays how it is in the world of organized crime during the Prohibition Era, as added by IMDb.

With an impressive cast, it was not difficult for Ben Affleck as a director to highlight each actor's skills. The movie "Live by Night" stars Elle Fanning (as Loretta Figgis), Brendan Gleeson (as Thomas Coughlin), Zoe Saldana (as Gracielle Suarez), Sienna Miller (as Emma Gould), Chris Messina (as Dion Bartolo), and many more.

Set for a nationwide release on the 13 of January 2017, the movie "Live by Night" has received its first nomination for Best Production Design by Jess Gonchor and Nancy Heigh in the Broadcast Film Critic Association Awards, according to IMDb. Will the fans of American mystery novel writer Lehane support the movie adaptation of one of his novels? Find out on its nationwide screening next year.
